A life-simulation game first released in Japan as Dōbutsu no Mori for the Nintendo 64 on April 14, 2001, in which a human player lives in a village populated entirely by anthropomorphic animal neighbors. It became the foundation of Nintendo's long-running Animal Crossing series.
